Question 1

The expensive look of gold plated jewelry comes from mirror-polish surface prep, even gold tone, precise AAA cubic zirconia setting, clean finishing and balanced design - all controlled in production at Hengdian (HD) Jewelry.

Accepted Answer

Short answer: some gold plated jewelry looks expensive because of the work underneath the gold color - surface preparation, plating uniformity, stone setting, finishing and design balance. All production choices, not luck. The five details that create an expensive look1. Mirror-smooth surface preparationPlating copies whatever is underneath. A mirror-polished base throws clean, sweeping highlights; a rough base scatters light and reads cheap. Most of the premium look is created before plating.2. Even, consistent gold tonePremium pieces show one consistent shade across every surface, with no cloudy patches or edge shifts. Our 18K plating over brass follows our own house specification of 0.1-0.3 micron - an in-house figure, not an industry-wide standard - with other thicknesses available on request.3. Precise stone settingStones are the fastest quality signal. Level, evenly spaced AAA cubic zirconia in secure settings looks refined; tilted stones or glue residue look budget. Clean settings also wear better.4. Clean finishing detailsEdges, clasps and inner surfaces register subconsciously. Smooth interiors, rounded edges, aligned clasps and fully closed jump rings separate a premium reading from an assembled look.5. Balanced design and proportionSensible chain gauges, symmetric layouts and weight that matches visual scale make a piece read as designed rather than assembled - most of what people mean by looks expensive.A mirror-polished base is the foundation of an expensive lookEvenly set AAA cubic zirconia reads as refined at any price pointConsistent tone and clean finishing across a collectionHow to judge the look by eyeTilt the piece under light: highlights should sweep smoothlyCompare a piece with itself for one uniform gold toneCheck that every stone sits level and evenly spacedRun a finger along inner edges: no rough spots or seamsOpen and close the clasp: firm action, aligned fitWeigh it in your hand: proportion feels intentionalHow we keep this consistentThis look only matters if it is repeatable. Browse current styles or learn more about our company.Does thicker plating always look more expensive? No - thickness mainly supports durability; the visible premium look comes from surface preparation and evenness. Our house specification is 0.1-0.3 micron; custom thickness on request. Can cubic zirconia look like diamond?High-grade AAA cubic zirconia is cut to reflect light crisply. In a level, secure setting, most buyers cannot tell the difference by eye.Is gold plated jewelry fine jewelry?Generally classed as fashion jewelry, since the gold layer sits over a base metal such as brass. Well-made pieces still read as premium thanks to the details above. How can I check the look before bulk ordering?Order samples first: 5-7 free stock samples, freight prepaid by the buyer, shipping once freight is received. Question 2

A reliable gold plated jewelry supplier shows in-house production control, a plating standard stated in numbers, transparent MOQ and sample terms, documentable compliance, catalog depth, and one accountable contact with two QC checkpoints. See the six-point checklist used by Hengdian (HD) Jewelry.

Accepted Answer

A reliable gold plated jewelry supplier is one whose quality you can verify before you commit, not one whose promises you take on faith. In practice that comes down to six checkable qualities: in-house production control, a plating standard stated in numbers, transparent MOQ and sample terms, documentable compliance, catalog depth, and one accountable contact.In-house production controlA plating standard stated in numbersTransparent MOQ and sample termsCompliance you can documentCatalog depth and monthly renewalOne contact, two QC checkpointsSample review: the first practical test of any supplier. The six qualities to check before you commitIn-house production controlOutsourced plating cannot guarantee consistency between batches. Question 3

Every order passes two inspection points: QC at our Shanwei factory and a second check at our Guangzhou warehouse. If a defect is found, report it to your one-to-one account manager with photos and the order number; our QC team reviews the batch and the resolution is agreed with you directly, case by case.

Accepted Answer

Quality issues on gold plated jewelry are rare when production is properly controlled, and when something does go wrong it is handled directly, not through a ticket queue. Every order from Hengdian (HD) Jewelry passes two inspection points before dispatch, and any reported defect is reviewed case by case by our QC team through your one-to-one contact. How we keep defects out of your orderDefect handling starts long before an order ships. Most problems can be prevented during production, so our process is built around controls rather than apologies:In-house productionOur own factory in Shanwei, Guangdong runs 5 production lines with 14 processes controlled in-house, so plating, stone setting and polishing are never outsourced blind.Factory-side checksEach batch is inspected on the line for plating finish, stone security and workmanship before it is released for packing.Second QC at our warehouseGoods are re-inspected when they arrive at our Guangzhou warehouse, so anything missed at the factory is caught before dispatch.Protective packingPieces are individually sealed in OPP bags to prevent scratching in transit; custom packaging is available from 10,000 pieces. What to do if you find a defectContact your one-to-one account manager on WhatsApp with your order number. You deal with the same person from start to finish.Send photos or a short video of the affected pieces, plus the quantity involved out of the total received. Our QC team reviews the batch against inspection records and confirms what happened. We agree on the resolution with you directly. Every case is judged on its own evidence, and the outcome is confirmed in writing before anything is re-shipped. Details that speed up the reviewThe clearer the report, the faster the case closes. Include your order or invoice reference, the style code or product photos, clear images or video of the defect, and how many pieces are affected. Reports sent through our contact page reach the same team.It also helps to know what plating can and cannot do. Our 18K plating over brass is applied at 0.1-0.3 micron, which is our own house standard rather than an industry-wide figure, and other thicknesses are available on request. Because plating is a surface finish, long-term satisfaction depends on wear and storage habits too - simple care routines prevent most reported issues before they start.Do you inspect every order before shipping?Yes. Production is inspected at our factory and checked a second time at our Guangzhou warehouse before dispatch. What should I include when reporting an issue?Your order number, the style or photos of the item, clear photos or a short video of the defect, and the quantity affected. Can I check quality before ordering in bulk?Yes. Question 4

Buyers verify a jewelry factory by matching legal identity and audit trail, requesting a live or dated production-floor walkthrough, testing paid samples with their own gauge, and checking REACH, CE and SGS reports for the exact alloy.

Accepted Answer

How do buyers verify a jewelry factory? The short answer: verify a factory with evidence, not promises. Ask for four things a real manufacturer can always produce: a matching legal identity and audit trail, a live or dated walkthrough of the production floor, paid samples you can measure yourself, and compliance documents tied to the exact alloy. All four together are the clearest sign of a real factory.In-line inspection at our Shanwei, Haifeng production floor.Five checks that separate a factory from a trading officeIdentity and audit trailMatch the business license, factory address, and invoice to one legal entity. We hold an SGS factory audit and platform verified supplier status, both independently verifiable.A walkthrough of the floorRequest a live video call or dated footage of casting, polishing, plating, and quality control. Ask to see plating tanks and inspection benches, not only a showroom. Question 5

Proper storage keeps 18K gold plated jewelry bright for longer. Learn how to store pieces dry and separately, which bags and boxes work best, and which common storage mistakes wear down the plating fastest.

Accepted Answer

Storing 18K gold plated jewelry the right way matters just as much as how you wear it. The gold layer sits over a base metal, so moisture, friction, and air exposure keep working on the surface even while the piece rests in a drawer. A few simple storage habits can noticeably extend the life of the plating, keep the finish bright, and prevent the scratches and dull patches that appear when pieces rub against each other. Four Rules for Storing Gold Plated JewelryKeep It DryMoisture is the main enemy of a plated finish. Dry each piece fully after cleaning or wear, and never leave it in a humid bathroom. A small silica gel pack inside the storage box absorbs leftover dampness.Store Pieces SeparatelyGold plating is softer than the stones and metals it may touch. Give every necklace, ring, and pair of earrings its own soft pouch or small sealable bag so chains do not tangle and harder stones cannot scratch the finish.Use Sealable BagsAirtight poly bags slow oxidation by limiting air contact. Many wholesale shipments, including ours, arrive in individual OPP bags that work perfectly for storage between wears - just press out the extra air and reseal.Choose a Cool, Dark SpotDirect sunlight and heat speed up wear on the finish. A lined drawer or jewelry box kept in a cool, dry room protects both the plating and any stones set in the piece. Best Storage OptionsOriginal pouch or poly bag - the first choice, and freeFabric-lined jewelry box with one piece per compartmentAnti-tarnish strips placed inside sealed bags or boxesA small dedicated dish for daily-wear pieces, kept away from the bathroom Storage Mistakes to AvoidBathroom shelves - steam and humidity attack the plating around the clockMixed metals in one box - silver tarnish can transfer onto neighboring piecesUnfinished wood surfaces - acids in some woods speed up discolorationPiling pieces together - friction scratches the finish and stones come looseAs a wholesale supplier based in Shanwei, Guangdong, Hengdian (HD) Jewelry packs every wholesale order in individual OPP bags, so resellers can hand each piece to customers already protected. Our 18K gold plating over brass is applied at our own standard thickness of 0.1-0.3 micron, with custom plating thickness available on request. If you need storage or care advice for a specific finish, our 1V1 customer service is ready to help - and you can browse our catalog or send an inquiry for free samples (5-7 pieces, shipping prepaid). Quick AnswersCan I keep gold plated jewelry in the refrigerator? No. Moving pieces between cold and warm air creates condensation, which adds moisture - the opposite of what the plating needs. Can gold plated and silver jewelry share one box?Better not. Silver tarnish can transfer to nearby metals, so keep each metal type in its own bag or compartment.Do anti-tarnish strips really work?Yes. Place one strip inside a sealed bag or lined box and replace it every three months or so.How should I store a piece I wear every day?Keep a small soft pouch or dish outside the bathroom and give the piece a quick wipe before putting it away.Need help choosing the right care routine for the pieces you buy? Question 7

Hengdian (HD) Jewelry runs every bulk order through a fixed sequence: confirmed quantity tiers, scheduled production in our own Shanwei factory, two-stage quality checks, OPP-bag or custom packing, and direct shipping from China with split delivery addresses supported.

Accepted Answer

From confirmed quantities to consolidated shipping, every Hengdian (HD) Jewelry bulk order follows the same visible sequence - so wholesale buyers always know what is being produced, checked, packed, and dispatched, and when.1. Order Confirmation and Quantity TiersA bulk order starts with a written confirmation of styles, quantities, plating, and packing. Our quantity tiers are straightforward: in-stock fashion styles start at 6-12 pieces per design (product codes beginning with HAI are 36 pieces per design), while 18K gold plated custom styles start at 120 pieces per design. Because we hold over 40,000 pieces of ready stock and release more than 500 new designs monthly, many bulk programs mix stock replenishment with new custom styles in the same season.Bulk production trays staged on the factory workbench2. Production Scheduling and TimelinesOnce confirmed, your order enters our production schedule. In-stock styles are picked, inspected, and released quickly, which suits retailers refilling fast-moving lines. Custom styles move through sample confirmation first, then batch production. Everything is made in our own factory in Shanwei, Haifeng (Guangdong) - five production lines, fourteen in-house processes - which is why we can push a new collection of up to 1,000 designs in as fast as 7 days and keep batch dates predictable.3. Staged Quality Checks Before DispatchBulk volume only counts if every carton is sellable. Checks happen in two stages: in-line inspection at the factory during production, then a second inspection at our Guangzhou warehouse before goods are released for shipment. Plating thickness follows our own house specification of 0.1-0.3 micron of 18K gold over brass, controlled in-house rather than as an industry-wide figure - and other plating thicknesses are available on request for custom programs.4. Packing, Consolidation, and Shipping Standard packing is individual OPP bags; custom branded packaging is available from 10,000 pieces. We ship direct from China - we do not operate overseas warehouses, which keeps one supply chain and one set of quality controls. One bulk order does not have to ship to a single destination: quantities can be split across several delivery addresses on the same order.Cartons sealed and palletized, ready for collection5. One Point of Contact ThroughoutEach bulk order is handled by a one-to-one service contact who confirms the schedule, shares progress at each stage, and coordinates shipping documents. If you are building a first bulk program, you can also request 5-7 free samples of stock styles - the buyer prepays freight and production ships once freight is received.Quick AnswersWhat is the minimum quantity for a bulk order?In-stock styles start at 6-12 pieces per design (HAI codes 36 pieces); 18K gold plated custom styles start at 120 pieces per design. Can one bulk order ship to several addresses?Yes. Orders are not required to ship to one destination; quantities can be split across multiple delivery addresses, shipped direct from China.Do you provide branded packaging for bulk orders?Standard packing is OPP bags. Question 9

Before any order ships, Hengdian (HD) Jewelry runs six checks: visual inspection under magnification, dimensional and weight verification, plating thickness against our own 0.1-0.3 micron house standard, adhesion and wear checks, stone security and finish match, and compliance evidence. A second QC step at our Guangzhou warehouse follows production, and failed pieces are reworked or replaced before packing.

Accepted Answer

Before any gold plated order leaves Hengdian (HD) Jewelry it passes a fixed set of checks at two sites: in-line inspection at our Shanwei, Haifeng factory and a second quality control step at our Guangzhou warehouse. The tests target the defects buyers raise: uneven plating, loose stones, wrong sizes and finish that drifts from the approved sample.Which tests run before shipping? The routine covers six areas, each with a pass or fail criterion. A piece that fails is held back before packing.Visual inspection under magnificationSurface, plating uniformity, solder joints, edges and symmetry are checked by eye and under a loupe. Dents, scratches and colour patches are reject reasons.Dimensional and weight verificationRing sizes, chain lengths and pendant dimensions are measured with calipers and gauges, and weight is compared with the approved specification.Plating thickness measurementPlating is measured against our own house standard of 0.1-0.3 micron of 18K gold over brass, which we control in-house, not an industry-wide figure. Other thicknesses are available on request.Adhesion and wear checksHandling and rub checks confirm the plating has bonded. Pieces showing lifting, blistering or colour shift are rejected rather than packed.Stone security and finish matchEvery CZ setting is checked for tightness; stones should not move or rattle. Colour, tone and polish are compared with the approved golden sample.Compliance and material evidenceLead-free material and nickel release within REACH limits are supported by SGS, REACH and CE documents. We do not advertise nickel-free; we report what the documents show.Visual inspection under magnification at the production line. What happens when a piece fails?Failed units are separated and reworked or replaced before the carton is closed. With 40,000+ pieces in stock and 500+ new designs added monthly, a rejected unit is normally swapped from the same run instead of delaying shipment. Custom orders use the approved sample as the reference. The full range is on our product list.Dimensional and weight verification on a quality control tray.Final check before packingThe second inspection happens at our Guangzhou warehouse, after goods leave the factory. Quantities, style mix, plating tone and stone condition are re-checked against the order, then each piece is bagged. Stock orders ship in OPP bags only; custom packaging starts at 10,000 pieces. Our 1-to-1 service covers this step.Plating and finish checks against the approved sample. Can a buyer request specific tests?Yes. Tell us which standard your market or retail client requires and we will confirm, before production, which reports we can supply. OEM and ODM projects also agree a pre-production sample and sign an NDA before drawings are shared. Start with our inquiry page or contact us.Quick answers Do you test every piece?Visual and dimensional checks are piece by piece; material tests are backed by batch documentation and reports. What is the minimum order?Stock starts at 6-12 pieces per style (36 for codes beginning with HAI); 18K gold plated custom orders start at 120 pieces per design. Can I get samples first?Yes, 5-7 free samples. Freight is prepaid by the buyer and we dispatch once it is received. Are stock styles mixed?Stock is ordered per style; we do not mix different designs to fill a minimum.Send your specification and target market, and we will confirm which tests and documents apply to your order. Question 10

Hengdian (HD) Jewelry ensures gold plating durability through three controlled stages: base metal preparation, plating process control to our own 0.1-0.3 micron house standard, and post-plating inspection on the line plus a second QC pass at our Guangzhou warehouse. Custom plating thickness is available on request.

Accepted Answer

Gold plating durability is engineered, not hoped for. At Hengdian (HD) Jewelry it is locked in across three controlled stages: base metal preparation, plating process control, and post-plating inspection. Here is how each stage protects the finish your customers wear every day. Stage 1: Base Metal PreparationA plating layer can only be as smooth as the metal underneath it. Every brass component is polished and degreased before it enters the plating line, because micro-scratches, polishing dust or fingerprint residue on the base metal are the most common root causes of early peeling. Removing them at the source beats covering them with a thicker deposit later.Plating and finishing work at the bench Stage 2: Controlled 18K PlatingWe plate 18K gold over brass to our own house specification of 0.1 to 0.3 micron. To be precise, this is our own standard: a controlled in-house specification rather than an industry-wide figure. Bath chemistry, current density and dwell time are monitored so the deposit lands inside that window batch after batch. If your market or price segment calls for a different deposit, custom plating thickness is available on request. An even, controlled deposit wears slowly and evenly Stage 3: Durability Checks Before DispatchPlated pieces pass adhesion and appearance spot checks on the line, then a second quality control pass at our Guangzhou warehouse before anything ships. Batches that fail are pulled at the warehouse, not discovered by your customers.Surface inspection under magnification Why In-House Control WorksOur Own FactoryProduction runs in our own factory in Shanwei Haifeng, Guangdong, with 5 lines under one roof. Nothing critical is outsourced, so plating parameters do not drift.14 In-House ProcessesFrom modeling to packing, 14 processes are handled internally, which keeps accountability for durability in one pair of hands.Fast, Repeatable DevelopmentNew designs can move from approval to mass production in as fast as 7 days, and the same process controls apply to every new release.Scale Behind the StandardWith 40,000+ pieces in stock and 500+ new designs monthly, the process has to stay repeatable. What This Means for Your Order Plating lands inside our house spec on every batch, not just the sample. Two inspection gates: on the production line and again at the Guangzhou warehouse. Custom plating thickness available on request for specific markets. 1V1 service, so a durability question is answered by the team that controls the process. Quick Answers Is 0.1-0.3 micron an industry standard? No. It is our own house specification for 18K gold plating over brass. We state it openly so buyers know what they are comparing against. Can I request thicker plating?Yes, custom plating thickness is available on request. For 18K gold plated custom orders the MOQ starts at 120 pieces per design. Does thicker plating always last longer?A heavier deposit generally resists wear longer, but lifespan also depends on how a piece is worn - friction, moisture and storage matter too. Where does final inspection happen? At our Guangzhou warehouse, where every batch gets a second QC pass before dispatch. See our factory story on the about us page.Want plating specifications matched to your market? Send your requirements and we will confirm what is achievable. Question 11

A practical guide to cleaning gold plated jewelry safely: the supplies that are safe, a four-step soap-and-water method, cleaning methods that damage plating, and how often to clean.

Accepted Answer

Gold plated jewelry carries only a thin layer of gold over a base metal, so how you clean it decides how long that layer keeps its color and shine. Safe cleaning needs no special equipment: warm water, mild soap, and a soft cloth handle almost every situation - as long as you avoid the few things that strip plating away. Supplies That Are Safe for Gold Plating Lukewarm water - hot water can loosen adhesives used around set stones. A drop of mild dish soap - pH-neutral, dissolves skin oil and dust gently. A soft microfiber or cotton cloth - lifts residue without scratching. A soft-bristle brush - only for detailed or stone-set areas, used lightly. The Safe Cleaning Method, Step by Step1. Mix and soak brieflyAdd one drop of mild soap to a bowl of lukewarm water. Dip the piece for under a minute - never soak plated jewelry for long periods.2. Wipe, do not scrubClean with your fingers or the cloth in light circular motions. Rubbing hard pushes dirt into crevices and wears the plating faster.3. Rinse quicklyHold the piece under a short stream of lukewarm water to remove all soap, which can dull the finish if left to dry on.4. Pat dry fullyPress - never rub - with a soft cloth until completely dry. Trapped moisture starts tarnish around clasps and stone seats. Cleaning Methods That Damage PlatingHarsh chemicalsBleach, ammonia, chlorine, and acetone attack the gold layer on contact and can cause spotting within minutes.AbrasivesToothpaste, baking soda paste, and polishing compounds are made for solid metal - on plating they grind the gold layer off.Ultrasonic cleanersThe vibration is safe for solid gold but can loosen plated surfaces, unset stones, and force water under the plating.Steam and heatJewelry steamers and boiling water expand the metal and can bubble or flake a thin plating layer. How Often to CleanFor daily-worn pieces, a quick wipe with a dry microfiber cloth after each wear plus a gentle soap cleaning once or twice a month is enough. Occasion-worn jewelry only needs cleaning after visibly heavy use. Over-cleaning is itself a risk, so clean when a piece looks dull or feels oily rather than on a fixed schedule. Why It Matters at Wholesale ScaleCleaning advice is also a quality signal: a brand that ships jewelry with clear care instructions reduces avoidable returns. At Hengdian (HD) Jewelry, our 18K gold plating over brass is applied under controlled processes across 14 in-house production steps, so a correctly cleaned piece keeps its finish far longer. Browse the range on our product list or learn more about our factory. First-time buyers can request 5-7 free stock samples with freight prepaid, and our team offers 1V1 support via the contact page or a quick inquiry form. Quick AnswersCan I use alcohol wipes on gold plated jewelry?Occasionally and briefly, but repeated alcohol contact dries the finish. Soap and water is the safer default. Is jewelry cleaner solution safe? Most commercial dips are formulated for solid gold or silver. Avoid them unless the label states they are safe for plated jewelry. How do I clean CZ stones on plated settings?Use the same mild soap method and a soft brush around the stone seat, then rinse and dry thoroughly so no moisture stays under the setting. What if the plating is already worn?Cleaning cannot restore lost plating. Worn pieces can be re-plated or replaced - one reason low-cost plated fashion jewelry suits high-turnover collections. Chat with HD Jewelry on WhatsApp

Question 12

Hengdian (HD) Jewelry produces fashion jewelry from a brass base, 18K gold plating at our own 0.1-0.3 micron house standard, and AAA grade cubic zirconia. Materials are lead-free with nickel release within REACH limits, backed by SGS, REACH and CE reports, and inspected twice - in our Shanwei Haifeng factory and again at our Guangzhou warehouse before shipment.

Accepted Answer

Production at Hengdian (HD) Jewelry is built on three core materials: a solid brass base, 18K gold plating, and AAA grade cubic zirconia. Because we manufacture in our own factory, the materials quoted for your order are the same materials we buy, plate, set and inspect in-house. Brass base metalA dense copper alloy that gives fashion jewelry the weight and feel of fine jewelry. Brass also machines cleanly, so our design library can carry fine detail - one reason the catalog holds 40,000+ in-stock designs with 500+ new styles released monthly. 18K gold platingWe plate brass with 18K gold at 0.1-0.3 micron. That range is our own house standard for fashion jewelry - a controlled in-house specification rather than an industry-wide figure. If your market needs a different layer, custom plating thickness is available on request. AAA cubic zirconiaStones are AAA grade cubic zirconia, selected for clarity, cutting precision and flash. CZ is the workhorse stone of fashion jewelry: diamond-like brilliance at an accessible cost, and durable enough for daily-wear collections. Compliance and safetyMaterials are built around a lead-free formulation, and nickel release is kept within REACH limits. SGS, REACH and CE test reports support this, and the production site is SGS audited.18K gold plated brass jewelry set with AAA grade cubic zirconiaFrom raw material to packed cartonMaterial decisions are made by the same team that answers your quotation. Our own factory in Shanwei, Haifeng (Guangdong) runs five production lines across fourteen controlled processes, and every shipment passes a second QC inspection at our Guangzhou warehouse before dispatch - so the goods you receive match the sample you approved.Raw brass components and loose CZ stones before assemblyMetal finishing, stone setting and packing stay under one roof, which keeps quality consistent from the first sample to repeat orders. Our 0.1-0.3 micron layer is our own house standard; custom plating thickness is available on request for 18K gold plated custom designs (120 pieces per design). Are the stones real diamonds? No. We set AAA grade cubic zirconia, the standard stone for fashion jewelry, chosen for diamond-like brilliance at an accessible cost. What safety reports support the materials?SGS, REACH and CE test reports cover the lead-free formulation and REACH-compliant nickel release, and the factory is SGS audited. What is the MOQ to start?Stock designs start at 6-12 pieces per style (codes beginning with HAI start at 36); custom 18K gold plated designs start at 120 pieces per design. Question 13

Quality control at Hengdian (HD) Jewelry runs through fourteen production steps in our own Shanwei Haifeng factory and a second QC gate at our Guangzhou warehouse. Learn what we check, where we check it, and which details a wholesale buyer should confirm before ordering.

Accepted Answer

Quality control in gold plated fashion jewelry is less about catching a bad batch than about controlling the process behind it. At Hengdian (HD) Jewelry, inspection points sit inside the fourteen production steps in our own factory in Shanwei, Haifeng, Guangdong, and every order is re-checked at our Guangzhou warehouse before export. What quality checks happen inside our factory?Incoming material verificationBrass base metal and AAA cubic zirconia are checked for composition, dimensions and finish before release to the line. Out-of-spec material never enters production.In-process checks on every lineOur five production lines run defined checks at stamping, polishing and stone setting, so defects surface at the step that caused them, not at final inspection.Plating controlled in-house18K gold plating over brass at 0.1-0.3 micron is our own house standard, controlled internally, not an industry-wide figure. Another thickness is available as a custom option.Final inspection before packingPieces are compared with the approved sample for plating appearance, dimensions, clasp strength and post alignment. Anything outside specification is reworked or rejected.Second QC at the export warehouseAfter factory QC, goods move to our Guangzhou warehouse, where a separate team catches handling damage, mixing errors and count mismatches.Dimensional and plating checks on a gold plated ring. Why does a second gate matter for export orders?Between the production floor and the shipping carton there is handling, storage and consolidation, where counts drift and finishes pick up marks. Our Guangzhou warehouse is both the export checkpoint and the packing point, so the final review happens close to dispatch. Review our setup on the about us page.Final visual inspection against the approved sample. What should a buyer confirm before ordering? Plating specification. Put thickness and finish in writing; confirm if custom plating thickness is needed. Rejection criteria. Agree on what counts as a defect and how many pieces per order are acceptable. Sample approval. Keep a signed-off sample as the shared reference. Packaging. Standard packing is OPP bags only; custom packaging starts at 10,000 pieces.Sorting and counting before dispatch. What can a buyer verify in writing? Our factory holds SGS factory audit and platform verified supplier status, and our materials are supported by REACH and CE testing. Plated pieces are lead-free, and nickel is a controlled addition whose release stays within REACH limits; we state what test reports show rather than absolute nickel-free claims. Stock designs start at 6-12 pieces per style, except codes beginning with HAI at 36 pieces. Quick answersDo you share inspection photos before shipment?Yes. Tell us which checkpoints matter and we will align the inspection scope. Is 0.1-0.3 micron a universal industry standard? No, it is our own specification for 18K gold plating over brass. Can I order a different plating thickness?Yes, custom plating thickness is available on request; 18K plated custom orders start at 120 pieces per design. What if a problem appears after delivery?Send photos, order number and affected quantity; each buyer has one dedicated contact.Set your inspection standard before the first orderSend your QC requirements, target quantity and plating spec; we will confirm what is documented at each stage.Send an inquiry  |  Browse the catalog  |  Contact us Chat on WhatsApp

Question 14

Shine on gold plated jewelry is a surface property. Wipe with a dry microfiber cloth after each wear, keep pieces away from water, perfume and chlorine, and store them sealed and separate with an anti-tarnish strip. Avoid toothpaste and ultrasonic cleaners. Our own 18K plating standard is 0.1 to 0.3 micron over brass, with custom thickness available on request.

Accepted Answer

Shine care guide How to keep gold plated jewelry shiny? Shine on gold plated jewelry is a surface property, so it stays bright when the plating is shielded from abrasion, moisture and chemicals. Wipe the piece with a soft dry cloth after every wear, keep it away from water and cosmetics, and store it sealed and separate. Done consistently, an 18K gold plated piece keeps its luster far longer than most buyers expect. A dry microfiber cloth after each wear removes the film that makes gold look flat. What actually dulls the shine Gold plating is a thin gold alloy layer over base metal, so brightness depends on the top few microns staying clean and unscratched. Skin oils and fingerprintsA thin film of sebum scatters light, so gold reads as dull even when the plating is intact. Perfume, lotion and hairsprayAlcohol and oils leave residue and soften the protective finish, especially against skin all day. Water, sweat and chlorineMoisture pools in micro-scratches and speeds up tarnish, so a ring worn in the shower loses gloss first. Friction and harsh clothsTissue paper and gritty polish create fine scratches; enough of them and the surface stops reflecting cleanly. Bright, even reflections show the plating surface is still smooth. A five-minute routine that protects luster 1Wear it last, take it off firstPut jewelry on after makeup and hair products dry, and remove it before bed so it is not pressed against skin all night. 2Wipe, do not scrubA dry microfiber cloth, light pressure, ten seconds per piece. Skip toothpaste, baking soda and rough sponges, which dull plating. 3Keep it dry on purposeShowers, pools, the gym and washing dishes cloud a plated finish fastest. Remove the piece first, every time. 4Store sealed and separateOne pouch per piece, closed against humid air, with an anti-tarnish strip. Chains stored loose scratch themselves and each other. Separate compartments stop chains rubbing and keep humid air away. Bringing the glow back If the surface looks flat, work gently before assuming the plating is worn through. Wash with lukewarm water and a drop of mild soap, brush textured areas for thirty seconds, rinse, then pat completely dry. Never store a piece while damp. If color has thinned at high-friction points such as a ring's inner edge or a bracelet clasp, polishing will not restore it; the layer needs attention. Our own house standard for 18K gold plating over brass is 0.1 to 0.3 micron, a controlled in-house specification rather than an industry-wide figure, and custom plating thickness is available on request. Quick answers Can toothpaste clean gold plated jewelry? No. It is abrasive and leaves micro-scratches that dull the surface, even if it lifts dirt. Is an ultrasonic cleaner safe? Not for plated pieces. Vibration can lift thin plating at edges and around stone settings, so hand washing is safer. Why does my ring look dull after a week?Usually a film of hand cream or natural oils, not damaged plating. A dry cloth wipe brings the shine back. How thick is your plating? Our own standard is 0.1 to 0.3 micron of 18K gold over brass. Thicker plating can be quoted, and 18K plated custom runs start at 120 pieces per design. Question 15

Ready styles ship at 6-12 pieces per style; custom OEM/ODM uses project-based minimums from 36 pieces.

Accepted Answer

At Hengdian (HD) Jewelry, ready styles ship at 6-12 pieces per style, which keeps reorder quantities low and lets you test styles before committing to depth. Custom OEM/ODM projects use project-based minimums — HAI-coded custom designs start at 36 pieces — with sampling before bulk so you validate the design before a full run.Use low ready-stock minimums to test, then move proven winners into custom production.

Question 16

Keep pieces dry, away from perfume and chlorine, and store them separately to protect the plating.

Accepted Answer

Keep pieces dry and away from perfume, chlorine, and sulfur-rich air, and store them in individual pouches so the plating is not abraded. Tarnish is usually the brass base reacting once the gold layer wears thin, not the gold itself failing. With our 0.1-0.3 micron in-house plating and sensible care, wholesale stock stays presentable across a long selling season.Care advice on the product page reduces returns — tell buyers to keep plated pieces dry.

Question 17

China leads on volume and speed, Italy on craft and premium, Turkey on EU logistics; lead with China.

Accepted Answer

For most fashion buyers, China is the volume and speed engine thanks to integrated clusters like Shanwei Haifeng that compress the sample-to-bulk cycle to days. Italy leads on craft and brand premium at higher cost, and Turkey bridges EU logistics at mid-tier pricing. The pragmatic answer is a China-led volume line with Italy or Turkey used selectively for premium or EU-localized pieces.A China-led line keeps refresh fast; use Italy or Turkey only where the story justifies the higher landed cost.

Question 18

Huggies and studs restock fastest; hoops cycle with trends; drops carry the highest value per piece.

Accepted Answer

Huggies and studs are the everyday staples that restock fastest, hoops cycle with seasonal trends, and drops carry the highest perceived value per piece. A balanced wholesale earring assortment usually leans on huggie and stud volume with a rotating hoop and drop selection — the exact mix depends on your market, but the four shapes cover almost every buyer.Lead with volume staples, then rotate trend shapes — that keeps shelves fresh without over-committing capital.

Question 19

Balance trend speed against durability and price; lead with 18K gold plated brass and AAA CZ for fast refresh.

Accepted Answer

Balance trend speed against durability and price. For high-velocity fashion assortments, 18K gold plated brass with AAA CZ delivers the gold look at a refresh-friendly price, which is why most wholesale buyers lead with it. Use material comparison guides to explain the trade-offs to your own customers, and keep a small premium tier only if your market pays for provenance and craft.Stock the material your turnover supports — a fast fashion line and a fine-jewelry line need different answers.

Question 20

The two numbers that decide everything: material and plating thickness, plus a written QC checklist.

Accepted Answer

The two numbers that decide everything are the material and the plating thickness. Confirm whether the piece is solid, filled, or plated, and ask for the plating spec in microns — at Hengdian (HD) Jewelry our 18K gold plated brass uses 0.1-0.3 micron as our standard. Pair that with a written quality checklist covering setting, finish, and counts, and you turn "trust me" into measurable acceptance criteria that protect your reorder capital.A short written checklist catches more problems than a long phone call — make it part of every purchase order.

Question 21

A practical care routine for 18K gold plated jewelry from Hengdian (HD) Jewelry: daily habits, safe cleaning steps, dry storage tips and the four situations to remove pieces - so the 18K finish over brass stays bright far longer.

Accepted Answer

With a simple routine, 18K gold plated jewelry keeps its warm color and shine far longer than most buyers expect. The gold layer is intentionally thin, so it rewards gentle handling rather than heavy cleaning. Every design from Hengdian (HD) Jewelry is finished with 18K gold plating over a brass base to our own standard of 0.1-0.3 micron (custom plating thickness available on request), and the habits below apply to stock designs and custom orders alike.Jewelry goes on lastPut pieces on after perfume, lotion and hairspray, and take them off before washing up. Cosmetics slowly dull the gold surface.Keep it dryRemove jewelry before showering, swimming or workouts. Chlorine, salt and sweat break plating down far faster than water alone.Avoid harsh chemicalsCleaning sprays, bleach and alcohol sanitizers can strip the finish in one contact. Take rings off, or wear gloves first.Wipe after every wearA soft, lint-free cloth removes skin oils and dust. Ten seconds per piece is enough. How to Clean 18K Gold Plated Jewelry SafelySkip ultrasonic cleaners and abrasive pastes - they can wear plating away quickly. A two-minute hand clean is all a plated piece needs:Mix lukewarm water with one drop of mild, pH-neutral soap.Dip a soft cloth in the solution and wipe gently. Never soak the piece for long.Rinse briefly under clean running water, then pat dry at once with a lint-free cloth.Air-dry fully on a towel before storing so no moisture is trapped. How to Store Plated Jewelry Between WearsAir, humidity and friction quietly wear plating. Store each piece separately in a zip bag, fabric pouch or lined compartment so chains cannot rub against harder pieces. Keep the box cool and dry, away from the bathroom, and add a silica gel pouch in humid climates. When to Take Your Jewelry OffFour situations cause most avoidable wear: sleeping (chains catch and prongs bend), gym sessions (sweat plus friction), beach and pool days (salt and chlorine), and housework with detergents. Taking pieces off for these moments costs nothing and noticeably extends the life of the finish.A Note for Wholesale BuyersCare guidance is part of the product experience you sell. Hengdian (HD) Jewelry produces from our own factory with 5 production lines and 14 in-house processes, controlling plating quality from base metal to final rinse. Plating thickness can be adjusted to your market, with 1V1 service on every order. Learn more about our company or browse the full catalog. How often should I clean gold plated jewelry?A quick wipe after each wear plus a gentle soap clean every two to three weeks is enough for pieces in regular rotation. Can I use a jewelry polishing cloth on plated pieces?Yes. Use a plain, non-treated cloth and press lightly. Avoid cloths charged with polishing compound. Why is my plated jewelry changing color even with good care?Plating wears gradually through friction and skin chemistry. High-contact points such as ring backs dull first. That is normal wear, not a defect.Does thicker plating mean less care?A thicker layer buys more time. Whether our standard 0.1-0.3 micron finish or a custom thickness, the same routine decides how long it stays bright.Need Care Cards or Finish Advice for Your Store? Our team replies to wholesale inquiries with plating specs, care guidance and sample support. Question 22

Cubic zirconia is hard and scratch-resistant; what dulls it is surface film from soap, lotion, and skin oils. Clean with mild soap and lukewarm water, brush gently from behind the stone, avoid chlorine and abrasives, and store pieces separately to protect both stones and plating.

Accepted Answer

How to Care for CZ Stones: The Short AnswerCubic zirconia (CZ) is one of the easiest stones in fashion jewelry to care for. The stone itself is hard and scratch-resistant (about 8.5 on the Mohs scale), so daily wear rarely damages it. What dulls CZ is what sits on top of it: soap film, lotion, and skin oils block light return. CZ care is less about protecting the stone and more about keeping it clean - and protecting the plating that holds it. Why CZ Stones Lose Their Sparkle Soap film and lotionRinse-off products leave a thin film that hardens between stone and setting, scattering light instead of returning it. Skin oils and residueDaily handling transfers oils from your fingers onto the stone surface, and dust sticks to that layer. Loose settingsA stone that moves in its seat collects lint and grime underneath, and worn prong tips can scratch the plating around it. How to Clean CZ Stones Safely1Mix a few drops of mild dish soap into lukewarm water - never hot water on plated settings.2Soak the piece for 5 to 10 minutes so the film on the stones softens.3Brush gently with a soft toothbrush, working from behind the stone where dirt collects under the pavilion.4Rinse in clean lukewarm water, pat dry with a lint-free cloth, and air-dry fully before storing.Repeat weekly for daily-wear rings; every 10 to 15 wears is enough for earrings and pendants. What to Keep CZ Jewelry Away FromChlorine and bleach. Pool chemicals weaken alloys and dull surfaces - remove jewelry before swimming.Abrasive cleaners. Toothpaste and baking soda are too harsh for plated finishes; they leave micro-scratches that trap grime.Ultrasonic cleaners. CZ survives vibration, but shaking can loosen settings on plated pieces. Hand cleaning is safer.Perfume and hairspray. Follow the last-on, first-off rule: fragrance and styling products go on before jewelry. Storing CZ Jewelry CorrectlyStore CZ pieces separately in soft pouches or individual compartments. CZ is harder than most plated metals and glass, so a loose stone can scratch neighboring jewelry. Wipe each piece dry before storing so oils do not sit on the surface. The Plated Setting Is the Delicate PartOn our own stock, the 18K gold plating over brass is controlled at 0.1 to 0.3 micron - that is our house specification rather than an industry-wide figure, and custom plating thickness is available on request for design orders. Because the layer is intentionally thin, the same gentle habits that keep CZ bright also protect the finish underneath. A Note for Wholesale BuyersIf you resell CZ jewelry, a one-page care card in the package reduces after-sales questions and returns. At Hengdian (HD) Jewelry, production runs at our own factory in Shanwei, Haifeng (5 production lines, 14 controlled processes), and every order passes a second QC at our Guangzhou warehouse. We share care guidance with wholesale partners - more about us here. Quick AnswersCan I use commercial jewelry cleaner on CZ? Mild soap and water is enough; if you use a commercial cleaner, pick an ammonia-free one for plated pieces.Does CZ turn cloudy permanently? No. Cloudiness is almost always a surface film; one proper cleaning restores brilliance. Abrasion damage is rare because CZ is hard. Can CZ scratch other jewelry? Yes. CZ is harder than glass and most plated metals, so store it away from softer pieces. Helpful pages: product catalog | request a quote | contact our team Chat on WhatsApp for CZ jewelry sourcing

Question 23

A practical pre-shipment QC approach for vetting any jewelry supplier.

Accepted Answer

Ask for a pre-shipment checklist covering plating thickness, stone setting, finish, compliance, and counts, and request samples before bulk. At Hengdian (HD) Jewelry we run 14 in-house processes and can share our inspection steps so you can vet consistency before committing.A written checklist turns "trust me" into measurable acceptance criteria and protects your reorder capital.

Question 24

Typical minimum order quantities when sourcing fashion jewelry from a China factory.

Accepted Answer

At Hengdian (HD) Jewelry, ready styles ship at 6-12 pieces per style, which keeps reorder capital low and lets buyers test styles before committing to depth. Custom OEM/ODM projects use project-based minimums — HAI-coded custom designs start at 36 pieces.Smaller per-style minimums are a major reason China works for high-velocity, frequently-refreshed fashion assortments.

Question 25

Turkey's geography-driven advantages for EU-bound wholesale jewelry orders.

Accepted Answer

Turkey's main advantage is geography: sitting between Europe and Asia, it can cut customs friction and transit time for EU-bound orders versus Asian supply, while labour and material costs stay below Western Europe. Its sector has grown quickly in gold and silver work, making it a credible mid-tier choice. The limit is volume and speed, which still trail China's integrated clusters, so Turkey fits curated mid-tier assortments best.

Question 26

The cost drivers behind Italian jewelry: labour, small batches, lead time, and brand heritage.

Accepted Answer

Italy's cost comes from higher labour rates, smaller-batch workshops, longer lead times, and the brand premium attached to "Made in Italy" craft and design heritage. Those factors place Italian output in the fine and premium tiers rather than fast fashion.Buyers pay for provenance and finishing, not for the lowest unit price — which makes Italy a complement to, not a replacement for, a China-led volume line.

Question 27

Why China's clusters remain the volume engine for frequently-refreshed wholesale jewelry.

Accepted Answer

For most wholesale buyers, yes. China's clusters — especially in Guangdong — compress the sample-to-bulk cycle to days and support a huge standing inventory, so retailers can rotate styles constantly. Hengdian (HD) Jewelry alone adds 500+ new designs a month from its Shanwei Haifeng factory.China is the volume engine; Italy and Turkey are better used selectively for craft-led or EU-logistics-led segments.

Question 28

Why China leads on unit cost for high-volume fashion jewelry, with Italy and Turkey positioned higher.

Accepted Answer

China is generally the lowest-cost option for high-volume fashion jewelry, thanks to its integrated supply clusters, mature plating and stone-setting infrastructure, and intense competition that keeps unit prices down. Turkey sits in the mid tier, and Italy is the most expensive. The cheapest source is usually right for fast-refresh fashion stock, while Italy or Turkey suit premium or EU-localized pieces where the story justifies the higher landed cost.

Question 29

Perfume, chlorine, sweat, and friction all shorten the life of gold plating. Hengdian (HD) Jewelry explains exactly what to avoid when wearing gold plated jewelry, and how buyers can turn care guidance into a selling point.

Accepted Answer

Gold plated jewelry rewards good wearing habits. The 18K layer on fashion jewelry is thin, so what touches it daily matters. At Hengdian (HD) Jewelry we plate 18K gold over brass to our own house specification of 0.1–0.3 micron — controlled in-house, not an industry-wide figure — with custom thickness available on request. Follow the "last on, first off" ruleThe single habit that protects gold plating most: jewelry goes on after dressing and grooming, and comes off before anything wet, oily, or abrasive.Skip perfume and hairspray on jewelryFragrance alcohol, hairspray resins, and skincare acids cloud the gold surface. Apply everything first and let it absorb before putting pieces on.Remove before water exposureShower steam, pool chlorine, seawater, and hot tubs all attack plated finishes. Chlorine is especially aggressive and can pit the surface within a season.Take pieces off for workoutsSweat is mildly acidic and constant movement adds friction. Gym sessions, gardening, and heavy cleaning combine moisture, abrasion, and chemicals — the fastest way to wear plating down.Do not sleep in plated jewelryOvernight contact with bedding grinds the surface for hours and bends delicate chains. A few seconds of removal each night buys months of finish life.Avoid abrasives and hard stackingNever polish plated jewelry with toothpaste, baking soda, or rough cloths — they cut through the gold layer. Keep rings away from harder steel pieces worn on the same hand.Watch household chemicalsDish soap, bleach-based cleaners, and disinfectants are harsh on plated surfaces. Wear gloves or remove rings for housework. What to do insteadPut jewelry on last and take it off first, every day.Wipe pieces with a soft dry cloth after wearing to remove skin oils.Store each piece separately in a pouch or lined box away from humidity.Buyers who resell plated jewelry often ask how much of this reaches the end customer. The honest answer: these habits are common sense for all plated finishes. What separates suppliers is what happens before shipping. Every Hengdian (HD) Jewelry piece is made in our own factory in Shanwei Haifeng, Guangdong, across 5 production lines and 14 in-house processes, then inspected again at our Guangzhou warehouse. The catalog holds 40,000+ in-stock designs with 500+ new styles monthly, backed by SGS factory verification and REACH, CE, and SGS reports — lead-free construction, nickel release controlled within REACH limits. For wholesale buyers, wearing habits also shape the product conversation. When your customers know that 0.1–0.3 micron is our house plating specification — with custom thickness available for 18K plated custom orders of 120 pieces per design — care guidance becomes a value-add for your product pages instead of a complaint channel later. Quick answersCan I shower with gold plated jewelry? It survives occasionally, but daily soap and hot water dull the finish faster. Remove it.Can I wear it to the gym? Better not. Sweat plus friction wears the layer quickly.Does perfume damage gold plating? Yes — alcohol and fragrance compounds cloud the surface. Question 30

Gold plating lifespan depends on plating thickness, friction, moisture exposure and aftercare. Hengdian (HD) Jewelry explains the four factors and shares five habits that help gold plated jewelry last longer, with factory-direct quality control and custom plating thickness on request.

Accepted Answer

How to Make Gold Plated Jewelry Last LongerGold plated jewelry does not come with a fixed expiry date. How long the finish stays bright depends on four controllable factors: plating thickness, daily friction, exposure to moisture and chemicals, and aftercare. Buyers who manage these factors keep a gold plated piece looking new for years, while careless habits can dull the surface within months. Here is what actually determines lifespan, and the habits that extend it.Plating ThicknessThe thicker the gold layer, the longer it resists wear. Our own standard is 0.1 to 0.3 micron of 18K gold plating over brass, a house specification rather than an industry-wide figure. Custom plating thickness is available on request.Friction and ContactRings and bracelets rub against desks, doors and fabrics all day. Constant contact gradually thins the gold layer, which is why high-friction pieces usually show wear first.Moisture and ChemicalsWater, sweat, perfume and household cleaners all react with the surface. Repeated exposure oxidizes the metal underneath the plating and dulls the finish.AftercareA thirty-second wipe after wearing and dry storage do more for lifespan than any single purchase decision. Care, not luck, keeps plating bright.Five Habits That Extend the Life of Gold PlatingPut jewelry on last, take it off first. Apply perfume, lotion and hairspray before wearing, never after.Remove pieces before showering, swimming, exercising and sleeping. Water and sweat are the two fastest wear accelerators.Wipe each piece with a soft, dry cloth after wearing to lift skin oils and moisture from the surface.Store jewelry dry and separate, away from the bathroom. A sealed pouch prevents scratching and slows oxidation.Rotate your pieces. Wearing the same ring every day concentrates friction; rotation lets each piece rest.A Note for Brands and Wholesale BuyersFor resellers, plating lifespan directly affects customer satisfaction and return rates. At Hengdian (HD) Jewelry, plating quality is controlled in our own factory in Shanwei, Guangdong, across five production lines and fourteen in-house processes, with a second QC inspection at our Guangzhou warehouse before shipment. Nickel release meets REACH limits and all pieces are lead-free. Every buyer also works with a dedicated 1V1 service contact, so plating expectations can be aligned before orders are placed. Browse current styles at our product list, read more about our company, or start a custom project through the inquiry page.Quick AnswersDoes gold plated jewelry fade over time?Yes. All gold plating wears down gradually with friction and exposure. Good habits slow the process significantly, though nothing stops it completely. Can I shower with gold plated jewelry? It is not recommended. Repeated hot water, soap and steam exposure speeds up dulling. Removing jewelry before bathing is one of the easiest ways to extend its life.Does sweating affect gold plating?Yes. Sweat is salty and slightly acidic, and it accelerates oxidation of the base metal beneath the plating. Wipe pieces clean after workouts. Can my brand request thicker plating?Yes. Custom plating thickness is available on request for custom orders, including our 18K gold plating line (MOQ 120 pieces per design).
