Our 18K gold layer is applied over polished brass at 0.1 to 0.3 micron, our own standard at the Hengdian factory in Shanwei, Guangdong, with 14 in-house production steps and a final quality check at our Guangzhou warehouse. Summer does not harm the brass core, but three factors test the surface:
- Sweat salts left on the surface slowly dull the plating if not wiped away.
- Sunscreen, perfume, and chlorine sit on the coating and can soften its shine.
- Humidity plus trapped moisture under a clasp or setting speeds edge oxidation.

We recommend taking pieces off first. Chlorine and salt are the toughest on any plating. For regular water activities, consider our ready-stock designs, MOQ 6 to 12 pieces per style or 36 for HAI-coded items, or 120-piece custom orders.
Is the plating safe for sensitive skin in summer?
Our plating is lead-free, and nickel release stays within REACH limits, a controlled addition rather than a nickel-free claim. Hot weather does not change that.
